The Karamanoğlu Family completed their circumnavigation and moved to Karacasöğüt in 1993. Throughout their travels lasting 5 years they discovered many places to stopover all around the world and experience all sorts of different accommodation types and locations. When Haluk & Christina Karamanoğlu returned to Turkey, it was clear for them to see that Turkey was in need of facility and a Yacht Club understanding the needs of sailors and travelers and so they laid the foundation of Global Sailing in 1994 in Karacasöğüt.
They aimed to break the common tourism concept of restaurants and serve a different special concept they had experienced while sailing around the world to their guests. Having completed the preparations in 2002, Global Sailing was ready to start, with its Marinette, Boutique Hotel, and Galley Restaurant. In addition to these, they had also aimed to cater for the world and Turkish sailors. These were followed by the foundation of Gökova Sailing Club which they set up with their children Deniz and Derin as sailing instructors, who had spent a considerable part of their childhood years at sea and are now successful at sail training.
From the day it was founded Global Sailing, has improved the quality of the facilities and services and now hosts an international Sail Training Centre. Global Sailing Academy, which delivers sail training to people of all ages runs its courses in this facility. Global Sailing Marinette is a safe haven for sailing boats located in the sheltered waters of Karacasöğüt bay and welcomes sailors from all around the world.
Breakfast, lunch or dinner in the Galley Restaurant, is without doubt an amazing experience.Apart from serving both Turkish and World Cuisine with its hospitable staff, our Boutique Hotel will also give you a very special holiday
